Emphasis on cheek, or rather cheekiness.
This is a study for The Feast of Venus and properly belongs on my other blog, but I've gotten in the habit of posting here.
I'm thinking of calling it The Joy of Sex.

Oh, Elizabeth!
At 9 AM I washed a whole chicken, stuffed it with herbs, and popped it into the pot to cook. Sat down at the computer, looked around and for some reason checked into your blog. I laughed out loud!...the commonality of our lives...

That's amazing! Thanks for sharing. Elizabeth
Or you could call "The Stimulus Package"...
I like the painting, how long did it take?
Do put ice in bags under the chickens to keep them from going off?
LOL Jeff! And that's a good idea about the icebags; I wish I had thought of it!
To answer your question I did this pretty quickly; the whole thing is a la prima, no glazing at all. The painting is 18" x 24" and I painted it in four sessions: one for each chicken, plus a day for the pot and other stuff and a day of finishing up. Quite fast for me, but it is intended to be a study so I didn't fuss with the finish.
The chickens change as they heat up (next time I'll try an ice bag).
I too worried about the chickens...they do look good enough to eat.
We want more posts! haha. I'm giving you the coveted Passion for Painting Blog Award. Check my blog for details. Not sure how to give you the logo!
